An overview of successful enrollment initiatives from 2019 NAGDCA Leadership Award winners. While auto enrollment remains prohibited in most states, public plan sponsors are employing strategic techniques to increase enrollment in supplemental retirement plans. In 2019, NAGDCA awarded multiple plans from across the country who were successful in utilizing enrollment campaigns to increase participation. Although the campaigns differ in many ways, common trends emerge that may help government agencies of all sizes develop successful campaigns that lead to
increased participation in public sector defined contribution plans.
