Dear NAGDCA Members,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you of a recent change in the NAGDCA leadership. Not long after our new Board year began in September, Vice President Christina Elliott resigned from the Executive Board due to changes in her responsibilities at the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio. Christina was a valued member of the Board for three years and we are grateful for her service.

Per NAGDCA’s bylaws, we have implemented the following succession plan to ensure a smooth transition and maintain our momentum toward our organizational goals. As a result:

  1. Ronda Butler Bell, Maryland Teachers & State Employees Supplemental Retirement Plans, has moved into the Vice President role.
  2. Beth Conradson Cleary, City of Milwaukee, has transitioned into the role of Secretary/Treasurer.

The succession created a vacancy in one of the member-at-large positions, which, per the bylaws, may be filled through an appointment by the Executive Board from among representatives of Government Members.

The Board has appointed Hunter Bethea. Hunter is the Director of Deferred Compensation for the Tennessee Department of Treasury where he oversees the State of Tennessee 401(k), 457(b), Optional Retirement Program, and other State-sponsored deferred compensation plans within RetireReadyTN, the State’s retirement program. He has been with the department since 2016. If you were at this past year’s Annual Conference you may have seen Hunter speak on the panel at our final general session.

We are excited to welcome Hunter and I thank all our Board members for their service to NAGDCA. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Warm regards,
