Month-long program, coinciding with National Retirement Security Month, features variety of topical general sessions and learning labs delivered by public plan sponsors and industry leaders; includes small group discussions for sharing insights, best practices

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lexington, KY, September 17, 2020—NAGDCA today announced the creation of Connect, a new virtual engagement and learning series. NAGDCA is the premier professional association for plan administrators and services providers of government-sponsored defined contribution retirement plans.

The inaugural NAGDCA Connect, October 5-29, brings together an array of plan sponsors and retirement industry leaders to share ideas and best practices around public sector retirement issues and trends. The event promises a robust learning and networking experience for attendees, with general sessions, learning labs, and small group discussion sessions weekly.

“We’re delighted to announce the launch of Connect. Our goal in creating this new virtual engagement and learning series is to provide a platform for building awareness and understanding of the many elements involved in and influencing public sector retirement, and to foster collaboration between NAGDCA members and non-members from across the retirement industry,” said NAGDCA Executive Director Matt Petersen. “Timing the launch during National Retirement Security Month is intentional, given that our ultimate goal, as always, is to advance public sector progress toward achieving optimal retirement saving and utilization outcomes for the nation’s public sector employees,” Matt concluded.

The inaugural Connect features a keynote presentation by Stanford University psychology professor Jennifer Eberhardt on the effects of implicit bias, and general sessions and breakout learning labs featuring panel discussions on topics including HSAs and HRAs; plan design and governance; fees; strategic communications; auto enrollment; holistic financial wellness, including uses of CARES Act provisions; cybersecurity; retirement income; and managing healthcare cost risk. Additionally, registrants will have the opportunity to participate in small group discussions to share insights and best practices via DC Community Exchange sessions and Peer-to-Peer Exchange sessions. A complete description of the sessions and speakers can be found here.

Connect is open to both members and non-members of NAGDCA. Registration is $100 for government entities and $150 for industry entities. NAGDCA is waiving new member fees through year-end 2020 for government registrants. For additional information and to register for the inaugural NAGDCA Connect, please click here.
