We’re delighted to announce the first study from the Public Retirement Research Lab (PRRL). As reminder, the PRRL is our collaborative effort with EBRI to produce unbiased, actionable research aimed at enhancing understanding of the design and utilization of public sector defined contribution retirement plans.
Key takeaways from the Trends in Public-Sector Employee Tenure study are 1) a notable difference in tenure length between all classes of public sector employees and private sector employees, and 2) a sharp decrease in the share of public sector workers in their 40s. Both findings have ramifications for public sector defined contribution retirement programs.

We look forward to continuing to share new findings from the PRRL that further understanding of public sector defined contribution retirement plans.
